What began as a collection of images gathered as evidence of my experiences living abroad in Portugal, became a response to the increasingly polarizing and uncertain perception of science in popular culture. Each photograph in this series was chosen as a source of evidence for a particular scientific concept or phenomenon. Their existence seeks to affirm the presence of science in the cultural landscape. This project also explores the notion of deep time, which brings with it a narrative whose evidence is only visible in the natural landscape. It is my belief that attempting to explain the circumstances of the world does not dull our sense of wonder, but deepens it. Each photograph is therefore a culmination of art and science, of experience and awe, and of evidence.
